Sangria Punch

This recipe was developed to go with a number of cooking classes held at divine. Now I make it for my wife Lareina and her friends or for almost any occasion. It always goes over very well and gets everyone in the mood.

6 whole cloves
1 cinnamon stick
375ml orange juice
500ml lemonade
125ml port
1.5L dry red wine
125ml brandy
125ml gin
125ml vermouth
125ml grenadine
1 each of apple and orange, sliced for garnish

Method:
Mix all ingredients in a large pitcher or bucket. Cover and allow flavors to infuse for two hours minimum. Pour into tall glasses filled with ice and garnish with apple and orange. This will keep well in the refrigerator for a couple of days.

Herbed Buttermilk Dressing

This is a easy dressing that can be used for salads or as a dip with fresh vegetables. We have even found it to be a nice garnish over homemade tomato soup. Quick to assemble and will last a week in the refrigerator.

250ml full fat sour cream. Pour off excess water first (do not use light or low fat)
375ml buttermilk
2 cloves of garlic – minced
30ml finely minced red onion
Juice of one lemon
125ml of chopped fresh herbs – any of the following (Italian parsley, chives, basil, oregano, dill, thyme, or chervil)
1 tsp. Sriracha (chili garlic paste)
Salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste
