Pumpkin Layer Cake with Autumn Cream Cheese Frosting

350 F oven
2 x round cake pans lined with parchment paper

Sift together:

2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp nutmeg
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
½ tsp cloves

Cream together:

½ cup butter
1 ½ cups brown sugarAdd 2 eggs – one at a time.
½ cup whole milk
Add: sifted flour mixture alternating with milk to butter and eggs in 3 steps.
Divide batter into 2 round cake pans and bake for 25 mins.

FrostingCream:

1 cup butter
¾ cup brown sugar
3 T molasses
1 T vanilla
1 ½ tsp orange peel

Add and finish creaming:

16 oz cream cheese
1/3 cup icing sugar
Layer cooled cakes with frosting and cover outside top and sides
